On this Sunday, we welcome Mr. Dean Pratt from Durham, NH, to our pulpit as our guest preacher. Pastor Jenn will be in Chicago on a congregational vitality trek with her cohort through the Next Generation Leadership Initiative. We give thanks for Dean’s presence with us, and for the many voices of our congregation who will help to lead worship!

Making friends is a difficult, risky business. Allowing people to know us, care for us, see us at our worst and our best, this is vulnerable work. And yet, it is vital to our well-being. Our text today invites us to examine the ways we love one another, ourselves, and God, and how well God loves each of us.

In this service, we will hear from the disciples as they bear witness to the Risen Christ, which will cause us to ask: How are we seeking out the Risen Christ in our own lives? Do we see Him in our neighbors and friends? In the people we do not yet know? How can we tune our gazes so that everywhere we look, we see the inflowing of God?
